One year later
Wednesday, November 4, 2009 | Karen Howes It's been a year since that dark day we elected to office the most radically leftist, socialist, anti-life, and anti-Christ president we've yet had.
Many of us have only just started seeing this. The media-- even CNN (Communist News Network) and MSNBC (Most Socialist News Broadcasting Company)-- are criticizing him. Back in January, the Obama Messiah could do no wrong.
I notice that I see very, very few Obama bumper stickers or t-shirts anymore. Just as virtually no German could be found after World War II who would admit to having voting Nazi, it seems that Americans who admit to having supported Obama are likewise becoming scarce.
The Germans who voted Nazi and the Americans who voted socialist have something in common:
They were blind, in many cases willfully so. They chose to listen to what their candidates said rather than look at what they did. Germans chose to ignore what Hitler had written in his own book, while Americans chose to ignore Obama's anti-Americanism, anti-life voting record, and his many unsavory associations with radical racists, open socialists, and domestic terrorists.
Why? Well, this is another thing Hitler's and Obama's supporters had in common: they chose security over liberty, a government welfare state over a free republic.
Remember that Nazis were the National Socialist Party; the German people were, thanks to their country's rape of occupied Europe and of the Jews in particular, very well taken care of by the Reich. German citizens who didn't criticize the government and weren't Jewish had little to fear from the Gestapo, so the idea of the average German living in terror isn't quite accurate. German citizens whose homes were destroyed by Allied bombing raids had their homes and possessions replaced-- again, courtesy of their former Jewish neighbors, who were either dead or in camps and wouldn't be needing their stuff anymore.
Obama, meanwhile, promised all kinds of government goodies: "free" health care, and "stimulus" money. Many people voted for him because his face is black and/or because they thought of him as a sort of combination Santa Claus/vending machine. It seems that many of us haven't yet realized that money which the government spends doesn't magically come out of the air. And since Obama can't imprison Jews and conquer Canada and plunder their money/belongings, it's the American citizen who's going to get royally screwed.
Are you seeing a pattern here? In both cases, people chose not to see that their candidate was dangerous because they were too greedy. They chose to turn a blind eye to corruption and evil because they were being teat-fed by their government-- or thought they would be. And many came to realize, too late, who and what it was they were supporting.
I know it's become trite to compare leaders we don't like to Hitler, although Code Pinko and Berkeley types never tired of painting little square mustaches on photos of George Dubya. But in this case, I think it's a comparison worth paying attention to.

You got on my top blog roll with one post. Not that our blog is huge. But I have seen you comemnt there a few times and never followed you back to your blog. Your material is great.
We are just waiting for krystallnacht any day now. It is definitely coming, and there will be blood in the streets.
I have not been surprised by any of the things that Obama has done, only by the speed with which he has been able to get them to happen. That is, sadly, a tribute to the weakness of the rest of American society, particularly the US Congress that has just absolutely rolled over and said, "scratch my tummy." Who knew that we had 534 communist in Congress? The only one who is not, as far as I can tell, is Dr. Ron Paul. They are absolutely the sorriest excuse for Americans I have ever seen in my life. Not a one of them has stood up for what they are supposed to stand for, none of them have thought about looking out for America. It is time to replace all of them, every last one!
It is time that we take back our language also. We have let Political Correctness rob us of words, change the meaning of words and tell us we can no longer use certain words. This has to stop. It is time to start using any word you want to, use it correctly, and do not flinch when some one tells you that you are not supposed to say that. This has to stop now!
We got some good indications yesterday on two fronts. The Dems went down in two important gubernatorial races. Also the RNC saw that the RINO could only throw the election in NY23 to the Dems. The RNC is just about dead meat in my opinion, because they are just like Congress; they don't listen and they are totally unprincipled. We the people are going to take this thing back, or we are going to die trying. Either way we win!
You know, I said back a year ago the fact that many of Obama's supporters were young is relevant in that they were too young to know any different. Voters older than say about 45 or so are old enough to remember the last truly liberal President, Jimmy Carter. I think his young supporters did not realize what a real, hard-core liberal was like. Clinton was fairly liberal but he was also pragmatic enough to work with the Republican Congress he got after 2 years in office. Younger voters though don't fully appreciate what true liberalism is. They did not catch onto the notion that if Obama was promising to give them all that he promised, health care, etc, someone has to pay for it. These voters are too young to understand that the government has nothing to give that it did not take from soemone else.
The point of all of this is that a lot of them have grown up quickly over the last year and this is why his numbers are going south.

I've come to the realization that that will not change much. A few might learn and refuse to fall for obama again, but they'll fall for someone else. Some are just too willfully ignorant, lazy and stupid.
I was thinking about all this last night and unfortunately, not much will change with the world, the likes of obama get elected often because of the same reason why those nigerian email scammers are still in business and people are still giving them money.
Have you ever thought how is it that slimy salesmen keep surviving, it's because there is a dumbo born every minute, and that dumbo can also vote.
This is a great analysis. The Nazi's were socialist. They expanded the socialized medical system that the Kaiser had started. They had gun control, they had controlled and sycophant media. They engaged in "corporatism," the government involvement and regulation of business. These all sound familiar today. The people did vote for a change, just not the change they expected. As more and more about Obama and his associates becomes public, the people are starting to see. That would explain the left's desire to control the media and the Internet. All of us are talking about these things, and we have evidence to back up our assertions.
@ Chuck. I largely agree. They young are more liberal by their nature. They also do not know what a disaster the Carter administration was. But, I must also add that the public school system, as well as the universities have been set up as socialist indoctrination centers. The kids don't learn about our republic, why the Constitution was written, and what it is intended to do. They do learn socialist ideology, and how to put a condom on a cucumber. That was the plan, and Obama is the result.

Virtually none of the reforms take effect until 2013, at the earliest. If there truly was a crisis wouldn't you think that they would want these wonderful reforms to take place immediately? The truth is that Congress and President Obama know that the American people will be so upset with what happens when these reforms take place that they have delayed them until after the 2012 elections.

Wow! Karen this is really a fantastic post. I am very glad to see that Obama is losing his popularity with the public, but unfortunately he still has solid followers that are in Congress and the Senate.
I still can hear that woman who spoke out about Obama paying for her mortgage and ignorant people like that is what got us the dictator in the White House. People need to learn from the past and quit repeating history's mistakes.
On a recent road trip, I drove into Madison, WI, one of the strongholds of the Left. Sure enough, on the road right in front of me at the first stop light was the first Obama '08 bumper sticker that I have seen in ages, on a Toyota station wagon. Most sensible people have gotten rid of these silly things, but not in Madison where the far Left still reigns supreme.

I agree with you 100%, however, I'm going to propose a bright side to this situation. Now, all the anti-liberty(the term I use for all the terms you used in your title) groups that have been festering in secret in this country fro many years are out in the open where we can see them. Up until now, they have been in secret, gathering money and supplies, preparing to take this country over. I think that had McCain been elected and this waited 4 more years, they would have been unstoppable as the media would be attacking a "right wing" administration, while ACORNtidesapolloSEIU, and all the "social movements" they support would be much stronger. I think they came in 4 years early and now will have to take the blame for the looming financial crisis. That's right I said looming, because the crisis has not hit yet, but it's coming, and will happen under BHO's watch. The great Depression was blamed on the less progressive Hoover, so a far more progressive FDR came in to save the day. Now the whole country knows we have moved leftward, and yo can already ask, are you better off than you were a year ago? It will take a massive uprising in this country to throw the commies out, but I see it beginning. We still have our guns, and the right to move freely to a point, things that other nations that underwent this a radical leftist takeover didn't have or gave up. Americans will not give up their guns, without a shooting war. We learned a good lesson from the Brits on that. We have a long way to go, but a decent chance of winning because they won too early.
Andrew, I pray that you're right. The problem is, once you start down the path to socialism, it's a slippery slope-- very hard to climb out of.
