Veteran's Day tribute

Karen Howes Two posts today; please scroll down for the second one.
To all who serve and have served in the armed forces, THANK YOU. Your service and sacrifice is so greatly needed and appreciated. God bless you!
One of my favorite newer rock bands is 3 Doors Down-- not only is their music great, they support our troops.
Here is the official video to their song "Citizen/Soldier". Yeah, I know it's for the National Guard, but I think for Veteran's Day, it appropriately honors all of our military. Makes me cry every time I see it.

(Sorry, Karen ... new name ... Dr. Dave is dead.)
I'll take the opportunity to recite the Army Soldier's Creed, for my fellow soldiers of yesterday and today and for those who died last week at Ft. Hood:
I am an American Soldier.
I am a Warrior and a member of a team.
I serve the people of the United States and live the Army Values.
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.
I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.
I am an expert and I am a professional.
I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy the enemies of the
United States of America in close combat.
I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.
I am an American Soldier.
Three Doors Down are kickass. I remember my old band covering "Kryptonite" and "Loser" - both great songs to play!
Thank you, Veterans - ONE AND ALL!
Love this vid - packs a powerful message AND with music I can appreciate.
I thank you, Karen, on behalf of my husband.
Unfortunately I was so angry about the Ft. Hood killings that when I woke up this morning, grabbed my coffee and sat down to write my post I had forgotten about Veteran's Day. "Sigh". Shame on me! I also had a dental appointment this morning, but that's still no excuse. After all, I'm married to a veteran! Sheesh!
But folks like you are making up for my lapse in memory. Thanks again and bless you!
Nicely said, thank you to our troops.
thanks Karen and God bless!:)
Snarky, I like the new name... somehow, it fits. :-P I wasn't familiar with the Army Soldier's Creed, so thanks!
Steve, I agree-- they're awesome. Never heard a bad song come off an album of theirs.
Nancz, glad you liked the vid. I do too!
RaDena, you and Ray are most welcome. Thank YOU. And I think with how busy you've been, you're forgiven for your memory lapse.
MK, thanks. I think most words would be insufficient to express the gratitude we should have.
Angel, you too!
